who am i?

My photo
A girl who looks innocent on the outside but truly fiery inside. One who loves procrastinating, fell in love with lobsters dipped in melt butter, spaghetti with extra cheese, and not to forget crab accompanied with chilli shrimps. Her most fond weaknesses: a forgetful nature and a hopeless directions-giver even in places she's supposed to be familiar with.

Permissible outrage

College days is over, waiting for A level results and I got rejected by Great Eastern for the scholarship.
How miserable can things go?? Good luck, Joshua and May Ling, looking forward to see u both come out in the newspaper all glorious and beaming after winning the scholarship. You have my full support!! :)

BOO yaaa!! I got myself a cocktail dress for this Saturday. That sweet red hot piece of dress costs me RM169!! I did the maths n realised, that equals to roughly 30 hours of work. SIgh..all gone just like that.

To my utmost horror, when i came back, My mom told me that my dad ain't gonna let me wear it to the wedding dinner, because it's too low at the front:( DAd!! It's just part of the cleavage that could be seen, AND I"M ALREADY 19, I dun Need your permission for this. Not being rude, but just being reasonable.

Scholarships and the headaches involved

OOpsie It's been 3 months or so since I've last touch this blog.

Just a quickie update for u guys.
I've been so busy and obsessed in applying for sholarships and waiting for news patiently yet totally forgot to worry about my a level results.

First Shell, Got disappointed, phone interview didn;t go well cuz they did not send me an email to prepare me as promised. Everything asked was answered inpromtu:( Soon wei got his e mail!!! That's so unfair.

Then the next few weeks the reply from Uni of Kent and Maxis came, another huge disappointment and waste of time cum effort.
c
Suddenly, this monday, after scheduling a meet up with my besties for a makan session in Petaling St, I had to cancel with them cuz I've just received a call from Great Eastern saying I am shortlisted for their preliminary scholarship assessment essay. The best thing was, I'm supposed to finish the essay in 24 hours time. I feel so sorry that i had to ffk on my friends, but if i do get this, I'll surely belanja all of you a haagen daaz ice cream:) Soon wei, I know i still owe you one, by the time i get my paycheck, U'll get your treat as promised.

The next day presented another boring task to complete-ATTEND A 7 HOURS UNDANG TALK.

2 days after I wrote my essay, I thought I could finally rest and get a good night's sleep. Another call came, this time, I'm shortlisted for their panel interviews the next day itself. Imagine my excitement and nerve wrecking moments.

First we were shown to a living hall to have a breakfast together with the other 13 shortlisted applicants. I saw Xin chean too:) Finally I found a school mate I'm acquainted with. 2 Assessment tests was given, one an IQ test, comprising of general knowledge, Mathematics and also our knowledge of the insurance company. The next one was just a simple essay:) Loved writing it!

After an hour's wait, all three judges of the panel came. Imagine our shock when we realised we were going to get interviewed by 3 judges in a glass room!!! We were arranged in pairs to save time, the interviewers were a bit intimidating, but the friendly atmosphere they created made us comfortable and at ease, performing our best in the first. I made a few major blunders in the first interview with the 2 ladies. Sigh..hope they don't penalise me for that.

The second interview with a guy who's said to be quite sharp by those who got interviewed turned out to be quite encouraging. He actually told me and my partner, he was quite impressed with the both of us. I was beaming, smiling foolishly from ear to ear like a Cheshire cat. :>

But what truly scares me is that my partner did way better than I did, as she knows what she is expecting in the Actuarial Science field as she had an internship with an Actuarial consultant company. I'm not being humble, it's the harsh truth.

After that I had a destress session with Jun yong, Kuan yu, and Samuel. It was really nice to see Sam's face when he loses haha!! He lost his manhood, he said after losing to me. LOL

That's all from me.

The closer u get to someone, the harder it is for u to part with them

My bro asked me to join him for an ice skating trip to sunway pyramid again last saturday. This time, it was with his friends. Hey hey hey, it's a pretty good exercise for our lower backs. Now i have a slight line down the middle of my back. yippeee!! For a girl who has zero muscles on her body, that provides a reason for celebration. At first, it was pretty awkward with his friends since i don't even know them. And then One of the guys tried to teach me how to skate properly not walk on ice. It's something nice that someone actually offered to teach me, unlike my bro who syoks sendiri skating as fast as he could not minding me at all. Albeit the awkward part of him holding my hand while teaching me, i guess i did my best. By the end of the day, i can skate wit a lil'-less risk of dropping. Yay!!

Our A levels results came out on wednesday. I must admit even though i did quite well( not bragging, just being to happy with them) in most of them, I'm still pretty disappointed when i saw i got a BIG FAt horrendous C polluting my results sheet on my Eng Literature subject. Sigh, made the most effort for it, lets me down the most. 1 more mark to B some more. Thank God i dropped the subject. Good riddance, and a better timetable for me. Cheers peeps!:>

We brought Izzie back for the weekend. Our handsome Golden retriever certainly steals the hearts of many. My bro brought him up Broga hill. Izzie became an instant celebrity amongst the girls and hikers there. Well, what to say, even my good looking bro was ignored when they saw Izzie. Love her so much, but it felt like something was missing when i open the door on monday. She wasn't there to take her string to me, asking for a walk. I miss her.

Ice skating-esctasy from liberation

This weekend has indeed been just a very short one. Let me explain to u guys why I said that.

5th of Mac:

Went with Samuel and Kuan Yu for a shopping spree for good CHINESE food in Brickfields to fill our stomachs. Note the Caps Lock, Brickfields, otherwise more known as the Little India, there are ample mamak stalls around, but with chinese food, hard to find. I ate 2 lunches, only one of them was satisfying to my stomach.
Waited for Kuan Yu to finish her classes before we finally headed off to Mid Valley to Join Jing Xian, Vanessa, Caryn(the other one from my college), Hon Yen and Alex to watch Alice in Wonderland in 3D form.
gothic Anne Hatthaway as White Queen. love this dark side of her but dislike the way she walks with both hands high in the air like a bimbo.
The Mad Hatter: played by Johnny Depp.
Mad hatter: Am I Mad?
Alice: Yes, in fact, You have gone bonkers.
Mad Hatter: Really?
Alice: But let me tell you a secret, most mad people are Geniuses.
Then I shall be mad:)

Alice entering into her wonderland, where imaginations run wild. I love the flowers most and the way they could talk expressively.
It was fantastic, being able to watch it in 3 dimension for the first time. Although it's pricey, but one movie that's truly worth it.
My favourite Character:the always smiling Cheshire cat. Love the way it played a fool of the Foolish Red Queen. Wearing Mad Hatter's famous hat and disappearing at the moment of execution.
The Red Queen: her size of head represents the extremity of bitchiness of this Queen. Selfish, superficial and shrilling queen.
After the movie, By nine at night, I went off to join Revolution Youth members for a mamak moment at Piccadily(nice bar/restaurant with a romantic ambience playing upbeat songs) at Millenium Square. It was Damien's birthday, wrote something cheeky on his birthday card.
6th of March:
Had Accounts extra classes half of the day, and cursing myself for even going. At night, went for a cozy gathering with my father's side's sisters and family. Absolutely love my Uncle's stories and his good cooking skills. Got all dizzy and drunk on 3 types of wine. Two red wines and one rice wine my uncle made-the best one ever, u should try:)
7th of march:
Attended church with eyes half open at 6.45 in the morning. Had a short nap before my aunts and my cousin brother with his friends woke me up with the door bell. Went on a leisure trip to Sunway Pyramid to ice skate. OMG got to see the other side of my cousin bro treating his girlfriend. (p.s:She's so hot and pretty, he's got good taste.) My cousin bro, who knows how to skate, was very willing to spend all his time holding her hand instead of having fun on the ice skating rink. Her shoe lace went loose and guess what he did?? He Actually bent down and tied it for her. AWWWWwwww... that's just so sweet.

Even the "cute guy" i used to have a little crush on was in there.(P.s:This dance makes girls look sexxayy and cute, and guys..ahemhemhem,gay-ish) They won the Best performance awards wei!! Congrats to them, and also for me who has good taste in guys:P

Unfamiliar surroundings, new ones

A whole new semester, new faces and even a facelift for our *extremely small college*...

It's pretty embarassing on the first day i came back to Methodist College after our long break, i couldn't even be certain which entrance to walk into. Turn around, blink an eye, one year has passed, but i still have my familiar faces around me:) Now that feels likes home.

At first glance of my new timetable, i gasped:) My class starts at noon on tuesdays! yeah!! finally i have late classes. The only bad thing i could find in my situation now is that, i have SUPER LONG BREAKS!! 4 to 5 hours and a half a day. That was until our classmate, Nicholas Chai went to complain about it. and there goes my breaks(no shopping anymore:<) Even though now, my classes all end before 4.30..I still have to go back at the same time anyway. So what difference does it makes?? *shrugs her shoulders*

hehe..now it's ragging week until next Tuesday. The juniors are gonna be bullied "gao gao" by us seniors to do several crazy stuffs just to get our signatures. Some got asked to lick another guy's belly button while others got called to propose to the opposite sex. Disgusting but fun for us. TOo bad, thath's the way to get accepted as a true MCKLian. Nice way to socialise eh?? Dun u guys think so?? It's really a funny sight to see some of the seniors, my classmates swarmed by a group of juniors just for a signature, until i couldn't see their faces. LOL..

Ho ho!! tomorrow there's a sale for books for less in YMCA:) good news for bookworms like me..
